By entering the www.lasthope.ie website, whether through link from any of our affiliate social media sites or by entering the address, or any of the sub-pages, in your browsers address bar or by submitting an on-line form for a product or complete an application form on the web-site you agree to accept our terms and conditions.
    2. We reserve the rights to change these Terms and Conditions at any time by posting changes on our Website. Through your continued use of the website site after the changes have been posted you agree to accept the modified agreement.
    3. Last Hope Animal Charity intends to be fair, honest, and open with our clients and patrons.

In no event/instance will Last Hope Animal Charity be liable for any damages including, without limitation, indirect or consequential damages, or any damages whatsoever arising from the use or in connection with such use or loss of use of the site, whether in contract or in negligence.

Last Hope Animal Charity does not warrant that the functions contained in the material contained in this site will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that this site or the server that makes it available are free of viruses or bugs or represents the full functionality, accuracy and reliability of the materials.

In addition you should be aware that, as an example, images of products in our shop may not always match the product as our suppliers may change their specifications. All rights are reserved on these documents and permission to copy them must be requested from the copyright owners (the sources are indicated within these documents/photographs).

Although the website uses encryption security software in areas where online payment details are accepted, the security of information and payments transmitted via the internet cannot be guaranteed. Any loss incurred or sustained by you when transmitting information by means of email or other internet links shall be borne solely and exclusively by you and in no event shall any such loss in whole or part be borne by Last Hope Animal Charity or its agents.
  9. You agree to use this site only for lawful purposes, and in a manner which does not infringe the rights, or restrict, or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the site by any third party.
  10. If these Terms and Conditions are not accepted in full, the use of this site must be terminated immediately.

On-Line Shop

  1. We reserve the right to correct errors and omissions in any price or other information without any liability. An order is accepted when we take payment from an acceptable credit or debit card. If we make a change which affects an order which has been placed and not yet accepted and despatched, we will inform the customer who may then choose to cancel the order without penalty. No change will apply to any order after it has been accepted and payment taken so that a contract has been created.
  2. These terms and conditions, and any order form or payment instructions comprise the whole agreement between Last Hope Animal Charity and our customers in relation to on-line orders.
  3. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to remove any of the customers’ statutory rights which cannot be legally removed. If meaning is uncertain then no term should be read in a way which would remove a customer’s statutory rights.
  4. All orders are subject to product availability.
  5. All orders are subject to acceptance by us. Acceptance may be withheld at our absolute discretion. An order is only accepted when we take payment from an acceptable credit or debit card.
  6. Certain products on the site may only be sold legally to persons over a certain age. We reserve the right to refuse any order for those products where satisfactory proof of age has not been provided.
  7. Please leave up to 30 days for delivery. In stock items will generally be dispatched within 24 hours. We shall not be liable for delays caused by matters outside our control.
  8. The standard delivery cost is based on the actual cost of various carriers used and is paid at the time the order is paid for with the chosen payment carrier.
  9. Risk of damage to or loss of the product shall pass to you at the point at which they are delivered.
  10. We use An Post. From time to time we may use other couriers.
  11. Payment is automatically deducted from your card when an order is made and payment details provided. Please read the T&C’s of the carrier you are using to make the payment.
  12. Our website prices will be displayed in Euro. Your card provider may convert to the currency of your account. You may use MasterCard, Visa, Irish issued debit cards and PayPal.
  13. Last Hope Animal Charity accepts no liability for any defect arising from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence, abnormal use, failure to follow manufacturer’s instructions, misuse or alteration of the goods.
  14. If a product is delivered which is faulty or not as specified on your order it may be returned for a full refund of the price of the product.
  15. Before returning any product for whatever reason, Last Hope Animal Charity must first be notified and the method of return agreed. When returning goods please enclose your contact details including a day time phone number, credit card details a note of why the goods are being returned and your receipt. (Please note that any faults discovered after the item has been used may require the goods to be returned to the manufacturer for warranty confirmation before a refund can be processed.)
  16. If you cancel the order you will be required to return the products to us. You will be responsible for the cost of return carriage for cancelled orders where the goods are as ordered. Until the goods are returned you have a duty to take reasonable care of the goods. If replacement is required you may make a new order.
  17. Goods which have been Customised, Personalised, Made to Measure or are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly cannot be returned
  18. Post and packing cost of returns will be at the customers own expense.

Donations

We provide a number of options through which a monetary donation can be made. The following section outlines terms and conditions specific to a number of these options. Please note that the list is not exhaustive and you should refer to the individual providers terms and conditions.

On the Last Hope Animal Charity Donations website (www.lasthope.ie) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/lasthopecharity) we link through to iDonate.ie, our primary donation payments processor.

In order to make use of this facility you will need to register on the idonate.ie website and accept their terms and conditions.

Last Hope Animal Charity or their sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility or liability whatsoever for any problem which may arise from your use of the idonate.ie website to process donations for the charity.

When a donation is successfully processed (and transferred to Last Hope Animal Charity) we will be notified of your name and the amount you donated.

SMS / Like Charity Donations

  1. SMS Donations are facilitated by Like Charity
  2. Your donation will cost €2 plus your standard network message charge, with a minimum of €1.63 of your donation going to Last Hope Animal Charity.
  3. 3.All supporters must obtain permission from the bill payer before sending a SMS text message.
  4. Please ensure you spell the SMS “LastHope” carefully and send your text message to the correct number. (50300). If these details are valid, and your text message is received you will be charged €2 via a bounce-back message. The charge will appear on your mobile phone bill or be taken from available funds on a non-contract mobile phone. If these details are invalid, you may still be charged your standard network message charge; however, you will not be charged €2 and you will not be donating to Last Hope Animal Charity. 
  5. Please ensure that you do not send more texts than you can afford. If you are under 16 years old, you must have your parent or guardian's permission to send a SMS donation to us.
  6. Last Hope Animal Charity works with one SMS provider on their SMS donation campaigns – Like Charity. If you have any queries regarding the service please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
  7. Last Hope Animal Charity, Like Charity or their sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any mobile telephone network or line, system, server, mobile provider or otherwise which may result in any SMS text being lost or not properly received.
  8. This service is available in the Republic of Ireland only.

Animals

Animals on Trial

  1. Personal details will be held on file for all Potential Adopters for the duration of the trial process
  2. The duration of the trial is agreed before the commencement of the trial period.
  3. The Potential Adopter will pay the full adoption fee at the start of the trial process and sign the Trial Disclaimer Form, Adoption Agreement form and if required, the Neuter/Spay Contract.
  4. The Potential Adopter assumes full responsibility of the animal, including but not limited to food bills and general well-being for the duration of the trial period.
  5. The Potential Adopter will always provide the animal with adequate food, fresh water, bedding, shelter and loving companionship. The Potential Adopter will never physically abuse, neglect or harm the animal in any way.
  6. The Potential Adopter agrees that that the animal will be a companion animal, not used for hunting, fighting, breeding or treated in such a way as to promote aggressive behaviour.
  7. If the animal is a dog, the Potential Adopter agrees that it will be placed in a safe environment when left at home alone. The animal will not be chained and Last Hope Animal Charity does not recommend the use of invisible fencing.
  8. The Potential Adopter agrees that Last Hope Animal Charity shall not be responsible for any and all damage costs or expenses, incurred by the Potential Adopter resulting from a placement including but not limited to damage or injury to persons or property by the animal and in this connection, the Potential Adopter releases, indemnifies and holds Last Hope Animal Charity harmless from any and all liability of any and every nature and cause directly or indirectly relating to this placement.
  9. The Potential Adopter agrees to return the animal to Last Hope Animal Charity should the trial be unsuccessful. The full adoption fee will be refunded at this point, and the associated forms will be confidentially disposed.

Animal Adoption

  1. Personal Details will be held on file for a period of 10 years to facilitate further adoptions if required/needed.
  2. The Adopter assumes full responsibility of the animal, including but not limited to food bills, healthcare and general well-being for the life-time of the animal.
  3. The Adopter will always provide the animal with adequate food, fresh water, bedding, shelter and loving companionship. If the animal is a cat/kitten, and is to be an in-door animal only, the Adopter agrees to provide appropriate enrichment and stimulation for the cat/kitten.
  4. The Adopter agrees that that the animal will be a companion animal, not used for hunting, fighting, breeding or treated in such a way as to promote aggressive behaviour.
  5. The Adopter agrees to contact Last Hope Animal Charity if the animal is lost for more than 24 hours or is stolen so that Last Hope Animal Charity can advertise on its main Facebook page.
  6. The Adopter agrees to allow Last Hope Animal Charity to periodically, if required, check to confirm the animal's acceptance of the new environment and family and to ensure compliance with all Adoption Agreement conditions. This may include a home visit. Last Hope Animal Charity retains the right to visit and examine the animal at any time.
  7. The Adopter agrees to never: (a) Physically abuse, neglect or harm the animal in any way (b) abandon the animal; (c) give or sell the animal to another person or entity; or (d) leave the animal at an animal shelter or research facility, for any reason. If at any time in the future the Adopter cannot continue to provide proper care for the animal for any reason, the Adopter agrees to contact Last Hope Animal Charity for help/advice on responsibly rehoming the animal. The Adopter agrees to provide safe and loving care of the animal until the animal can be responsibly rehomed, or until Last Hope Animal Charity can locate a fosterer. The Adopter understand that the normal adjustment period for most new animals is approximately 30-45 days and is prepared to make allowances accordingly as the animal gets to know its new surroundings. If the Last Hope Animal Charity are able to accept the animal back into care, the Adopter must provide proof that the animal is up-to-date with its vaccinations or must pay the cost of bringing the vaccinations up to date. If the animal is a dog, the vaccinations must include kennel cough; and there must be proof the animal has received regular flea and worming treatment. Otherwise, the Adopter will also be responsible for the cost of all treatment.
  8. The Adopter agrees that the animal will be kept as a house pet, not a kennel animal or an outside animal.
  9. If the animal is a dog, the Adopter agrees that it will be placed in a safe environment when left at home alone. The animal will not be chained and Last Hope Animal Charity does not recommend the use of invisible fencing or shock collars.
  10. Last Hope Animal Charity advises the Adopter to comply with the necessary legislation and purchase a dog license.
  11. If the animal is a dog, a collar with appropriate identification tags (Adopter's address and/or telephone number), must be worn outside.
  12. If the animal is a cat, the Adopter will never declaw the cat under any circumstances. Adopter understands and agrees that declawing can cause serious physical, psychological and behavioural complications, and that scratching is normal cat behaviour. The Adopter will provide scratching posts or pads and keep the pet's nails trimmed.
  13. If the animal is a cat/kitten, the Adopter agrees to keep the animal inside for a period of 3 months for it to get used to its surroundings before being introduced to the outside. The adopter also agrees not to let a kitten outside until after it has been neutered/spayed.
  14. The Adopter agrees the animal will not be transported in the back of an open vehicle and will be firmly secured while in transit.
  15. Puppies and kittens too young to be neutered/spayed at the time of adoption shall have the spay/neuter operation performed at Last Hope Animal Charity expense by a Last Hope Animal Charity -approved veterinarian at an appropriate age. The Adopter agrees to sign and to abide by the terms of Last Hope Animal Charity Neuter/Spay Contract.
  16. The Adopter agrees to pay the adoption fee for the animal to enable Last Hope Animal Charity to continue its objective of rescuing and aiding stray and abandoned animals.
    • The adoption fee for dogs/puppies includes: neuter/spay, vaccinations, microchip, flea and worming whilst in Last Hope care.
    • The adoption fee for cats/kittens includes: neuter/spay, flea and worming whilst in Last Hope care. The adopter understands that it is their responsibility to provide cats/kittens adopted from last Hope with the applicable vaccinations. Cat/Kitten adoption fees do not include cat/kitten vaccinations
  17. The Adopter agrees to provide quality veterinary care for animals and agrees to seek prompt veterinary care when indicated by symptoms or an emergency.
  18. Should it be necessary for Last Hope Animal Charity to take legal action to recover this adopted animal or otherwise enforce provisions in this agreement, the Adopter agrees to pay all court costs and legal fees.
  19. The Adopter agrees that Last Hope Animal Charity shall not be responsible for any and all damage costs or expenses, incurred by the Adopter resulting from a placement including but not limited to damage or injury to persons or property by the animal and in this connection, the Adopter releases, indemnifies and holds Last Hope Animal Charity harmless from any and all liability of any and every nature and cause directly or indirectly relating to this placement.
  20. Should it come to the attention of Last Hope Animal Charity from any source that the Adopter is not abiding by the terms of this agreement, or is abusing, mistreating, or neglecting this animal, Last Hope Animal Charity has the right to take the animal into protective custody while the matter is investigated, and if the matter is deemed to be true and accurate, shall have the right to resume permanent ownership of the animal and the Adopter shall relinquish all rights and this agreement shall be terminated.

Surrendering an Animal

  1. By relinquishing the animal to Last Hope Animal Charity, the individual acknowledges and agrees that Last Hope Animal Charity shall have the sole and exclusive legal right to make all decisions, and to take all action, regarding that animal.
  2. The Individual understands that once they relinquish the animal, it will not be available to be returned to them.
  3. The individual understands that they will not receive any correspondence or updates on the animals’ status from the surrender date onwards.
  4. Animals can only be surrendered on a case-by-case basis and provided that Last Hope Animal Charity has space available.
  5. A surrender fee is also payable upon surrender to help care for and re-home the animal.

Rehome from Owner

  1. The Owner accepts that Last Hope Animal Charity is only the facilitator of this service and will not provide foster space to the animal (Refer to Surrendering an animal if required)
  2. Last Hope Animal Charity will only advertise Rehome from Owners if the animal has been neutered/spayed and if a dog, microchipped.
  3. Contact numbers will be required to advertise animals on the Last Hope Animal Charity website and on the public Facebook Page.
  4. Last Hope Animal Charity will facilitate the Rehome from Owner at their monthly Adoption Days
  5. Last Hope Animal Charity recommends that owners ensure that their animal is being rehomed to a safe environment and strongly encourages the Owner to conduct a home visit.
  6. The owner accepts that last Hope Animal Charity are not responsible for carrying out Home Visits.
  7. The Owner agrees to inform last Hope Animal Charity when the animal has been rehomed.

Lost and Found

  1. The Individual accepts that Last Hope Animal Charity is only the facilitator of this service and may not have the space to take lost animals into care,
  2. Personal details will be required to advertise animals on the Last Hope Animal Charity website and on the public Facebook Page.
  3. The Finder/Owner agrees to inform last Hope Animal Charity when the animal has been reunited.
